About CommuniHacks
Mission
CommuniHacks is a 24-hour hackathon where students build technology to solve real problems faced by local nonprofits and community organizations. By bringing together developers, designers, and innovators, the event creates a space where technology can directly support the needs of the community. Participants collaborate in teams to design and build impactful solutions, guided by real challenges provided by partner organizations. Throughout the event, mentors support teams as they develop projects that combine creativity, technical skill, and meaningful impact.

How CommuniHacks Works
At the start of the event, local nonprofit partners present problem statements based on challenges they are currently facing. After teams are formed, each team selects one of these problems to work on and spends the next 24 hours designing and building a solution. Teams will present their projects to judges and partner organizations at the end of the hackathon.

Project Themes
Each partner organization provides a unique challenge based on a real community issue. Teams work closely with these problem statements to create practical solutions that can help organizations better serve their communities. Projects are evaluated based on impact, creativity, technical execution, and how effectively they address the chosen challenge.
